What is the Purpose of Taking a Career Assessment Test?

A career assessment test is designed to assist students in discovering and selecting a career path that aligns with their career interests, skills, and personality traits. You can use our free career test to help you make a more informed decision regarding potential careers by identifying areas of potential strength that align with your skills and interests.

People taking this career test are encouraged to explore various career clusters, which are organized based on similar occupational fields from your career test results. Each career cluster includes numerous career pathways leading to occupations ranging from entry-level positions to professional ones across a broad spectrum of industry areas. By taking the University HQ career test, you can uncover your perfect career match based on your career personality and career interests. Our career quiz provides students with assistance for both career decision-making and college planning over time.

A career aptitude quiz is an essential tool that encourages exploration of various careers. This career assessment test provides a comprehensive list of career clusters, so you are able to explore all available paths when it comes time to choose your career path.

The career test is intended to provide insight into the 16 career clusters identified by the National Career Clusters Framework. Each career cluster comprises multiple small groups known as pathways. These represent different areas within a cluster that offer specific education and training that corresponds with particular industries or jobs. Here are these 16 career clusters:

Each cluster features specific pathway focus areas linked to educational programs, industries, or jobs. For example, Health Science features pathways such as nursing, emergency medical services, dental hygiene and veterinary science which will provide you with relevant training and skills needed for success in your chosen fields.

Note that the career test has not been normed, meaning there is no standardized scoring system or benchmark used as a comparison point. Instead, this career quiz should serve as a guiding tool and spark conversation about possible careers; while its survey results may provide guidance, they should not be seen as sole determinants in making career choices.
